Touchmark – Bend, OR
May 28, 2018
For the past several years, I’ve been honored to work with a wonderful company to photograph their facilities, staff, and residents.
Touchmark has locations throughout the country. I like to describe them as the “Hilton of Retirement”. Everyone I’ve worked with at the company throughout North Dakota, Montana, Washington, Oregon, and Arizona (yes I’ve visited all of these locations) have been amazing. The staff is caring, compassionate, and most importantly, fun! And the residents are always gracious enough to welcome me with open arms. In a way, I feel like I now have a few extra sets of grandparents across the western half of the country.
During this four day photoshoot, I was tasked with photographing various exteriors, capturing moments from events throughout the campus, and joining a couple from Touchmark who have traveled the globe by featuring them in various photoshoots as they prepared for their next destination.
On day three of the trip, I decided to wake up at 4 AM (and if you know me, you’ll know I’m NOT a morning person), to photograph the mountains surrounding the community of Bend including Mount Bachelor and the Sister Mountains. While I haven’t had a chance to edit through those images, below is one of my favorites that I shot.
While the shoots were fairly straightforward, because we photographed many of scenes outdoors in mid-afternoon, I did incorporate flash in order to showcase the breathtaking scenery and blue skies, while keeping the subjects properly exposed. The results I believe speak for themselves.
I am looking forward to visiting this community hopefully sooner than later, as I absolutely fell in love with Oregon.
